I Said Yes To The Dress!

1 Year 9 Months until the wedding... And I said yes to the dress!!

It was so spontaneous too. My sister and I were going to Aldi when we came across a little bridal boutique. We thought it was a warehouse but when we stepped inside it was a beautiful bridal shop. The lovely assistant Jess said we were free to look around, so we made a start. Within minutes I was wowed by some beautiful dresses. But I saw one and it reduced me to tears. There were also 2 other dresses I really loved too. So I made a note of the 3 dresses and vowed to make an appointment to go back and try them on.

I went back the next day 😂
I had told my mum about the dresses and she said she wanted to see them. We returned to the shop and I was surprised to see my dad had come too! Jess was very surprised to see me back within 24 hours and managed to do me a same day fitting. How exciting!

I filled out a form which asked details about the wedding and then I got to try the dresses on. The first dress was lovely, but I knew it wasn't The One. The second dress I put on fit perfectly! And this wasn't the dress that reduced me to tears the previous day. But I felt perfect in it! And when my parents and sister saw me, their reactions was exactly what I wanted. However I still had to try on the dress I'd fallen in love with. But when I tried it on, I knew it wasn't the dress for me.

I stepped back into the second dress and it just confirmed what I already knew. This was my dress. And I knew nothing would come close to it.

The lovely Jess sorted a payment plan for me and I will have ,y beautiful dress by Christmas this year! I will have to hide it my parents house as OJ will want a sneak peak haha.

It's exciting to know the next time I'm in the dress, I'll be becoming OJ's wife!

The Joys of Mayarna

It's been a while since I last wrote a blog but I feel I've got too much to keep to myself. May-May is 18 months old and boy has she developed into a character! She is so full of joy and knows how to cut some serious shapes (making me look bad lol) with any music you can give her. The way she picks up things, responsds and answers in her own speech astounds me as I couldn't have imagined her learning so fast.  When we were on holiday in Benidorm, she would wave at anyone who passed and I think she made a few friends along the way with her quirky facial expressions. I can see how carefree she is and even at times goes into a full speech randomly. All the locals loved her and when we went it to shops they would give her treats like lollies and sweets.  I think for me, seeing May-May pick up all these new traits it lets me know that we are raising an amazing child who never stops surprising us. We have been trying to get her more used to walking and leaving ...

My goals in life are: Get married and have another baby  Gain a degree in Events Management Have my own Events business Buy a house Be financially comfortable I have planned and executed a few event's successfully but I want to have my own company. But doing this comes from experience. To gain experience I need to work as a manager. This includes having a degree. So I found a distant learning course that allows me to gain my Diploma in Business. Once I gain my Diploma, I can apply for university and get my degree. Woohoo!🎉🎉 So I had my plan. I went online to see if there were any student mum bloggers out there. I read a few but thought no point worrying until princess got here. 5 months later my wonderful partner OJ proposed to me i...

Almost A Year In

I havent blogged for a while as it has been such a busy few months. In that time I have seen May-May grow into such a cute and cheeky child with such a bubbly personality. She makes the best effort to try and stand and every chance she gets she is trying to balance herself to stand up straight. She laughs each time she falls and has learnt to stand up leaning against the sofa and is already make sounds as if she is speaking. May-May has also been trying to teach herself to walk and she has picked up walking with support quite rapidly. I'm amazed how dedicated she is to teach herself these skills. We bought her a jumperoo for xmas and she absolutely loves using it as it is helping to support her posture. I feel she will be walking without support very soon and I am so proud of her. After months of sleepless nights and commitment to giving her the best possible start in life, its moments like this that totally make parenting worth it. Next weekend May-May is going to be 1....
